Managing Consultant, Telecom is a part of Ovum / Datamonitor consulting team serving clients throughout Europe, the US and Asia/Pacific. Team in India focuses on the local market. We work with clients to address a range of strategic, regulatory, technology, financial and operational issues. As a Managing Consultant, responsibilities will include:
Project Management: Manage projects with Principal Consultant or independently to produce deliverables to management / client-requested timeframes. Translate thought-leadership into actionable work plans for consultants with realistic timelines. Monitor progress and overcome challenges that arise to deliver completed projects to the agreed timeframes.
Project execution: Managing Consultant will be responsible for setting high standards required for project delivery and client management. This will include understanding the reasoning behind a consulting project, the client’s agenda and the priorities of the different project elements. Demonstrate the ability to identify and structure project-related issues, analyze these and develop recommendations. Use established conceptual economic frameworks for analyzing data and communicating project results. Develop user-friendly and interactive forecasting models using Visual Basic or Excel.
Team Management: Manage a team of consultants and analysts and guiding them on project execution, setting delivery targets and ensuring high quality output from team.
Client Management: Assist Principal Consultant in managing clients. It would involve identifying and understanding clients’ needs and developing on-going and in-depth contact with clients through projects and constant communication.
Group Development: Keep abreast of relevant competitive offerings, understanding both their strengths and weaknesses. Support the team in developing new propositions, and engineer existing propositions to compete effectively.

Person Specifications:
Education: Higher degree at well recognized University, preferably in business and engineering
Analytical skills: Ability to conceptualize and analyze beyond data processing, is an emphasis for this position. Ability may be demonstrated by previous achievements, academic track-record or extra-curricular activities
Work experience: A minimum of 3.5 years of work experience in a Telecoms management consultancy / market analysis firm involving strategic projects for Senior Management.
Communication skills: Ability to summarize and communicate project findings verbally, numerically an graphically through presentations
Soft skills: Focus, delivery on time and attention to detail are required. A creative and critical mind, questioning project elements in the interest of the final outcome will be supported.
Dynamic personality: Self motivated, go-getter attitude and zeal to excel are required for the role
Computer skills: MS Office (advanced power point skill is a must), Advanced excel, preferably Visual Basic
