JOB SUMMARY:
With minimal guidance, debugs software through the use of systematic tests to develop, apply, and maintain quality standards for company projects. Works as a fully contributing team member under broad guidance with independent planning and execution responsibilities on projects of medium to high complexity. Is able to adapt standard principles to new or changed conditions in day to day work.

Test Project Attributes and Complexity

Senior Test Engineers work on projects that typically have one or a number of the following variables:
Impacts a significant portion of a moderate to large application.

Budget Impact of $250K - $1Million.

Focused on existing systems and subsystems.

May provide project oversight to junior staff as part of a larger project team.

Project length typically 2 months to 1 year.

Test Project Support

Participates in the reviews of requirements and specifications.
Independently designs, develops, and executes software test plans, including design of test scripts in both manual and automated test environments following the established Test Management Process.
Responsible for detailed test plan creation for medium to large projects.
Analyzes product and test project risks and advises Lead Test Engineer and/or Project Managers and project teams of associated risks.� Participates in identifying and implementing risk mitigation strategies.

Desired Candidate Profile

KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent training required.
* Equivalent training might include some college and at least 3 years experience in the IT industry...
* Minimum of 3 - 4 years of experience in software testing (multiple platforms). Out of which at least 1 year in testing Middleware Services/Webservices.
* Experience in use of software test tools such as those listed in Skills and Abilities.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

None required. Any of the following certifications are a plus: QAI Certified Software Test Engineer, ASQ Certified Software Quality Engineer, QAI Certified Quality Analyst, SQA Internal Certified Tester Program, SQA Certified Tester Program, ICCP Certified Computing Professional with special exams in Quality Assurance and Software Testing Certification in testing tools such as those listed in Skills and Abilities. ISTQB Certified tester.

ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:�

* Mutual Fund/Financial Service experience preferred.
* Knowledge of or experience in global cultural and communications & organizational capabilities and challenges.
* Knowledge and prior use of mainframe and/or client server and/or web based utilities, tools and processes preferred.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:�

* Experience in testing Middleware Services/Web Services.(Desired: XML based Message oriented services)
* Strong understanding of XML
* Experience in writing SQl queries.
* Experience with using test management software such as Test Director/Quality Center, and understanding of programming concepts and project management.
* Fundamental understanding of Middleware Strategy.
* Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties including comp
